The Territory is entering an exciting period of growth and 20 000 new jobs are expected over the next five years. It’s important that we work together to ensure a skilled and dynamic Territory workforce and make the most of new opportunities.
The Territory Government is continuing its focus on jobs for Territorians.
Employment Strategy 2012-2015 outlines the priorities and targets that will help Territorians gear up for growth and maximise their opportunities.

Employment Strategy background
The Employment Strategy 2012-2015 follows on from the successful Jobs NT 2010-2012 employment strategy.
The Territory Government undertook a discussion period to give Territorians the opportunity to have their say on what the 2012-2015 strategy should focus on. Discussions were targeted at five key areas:
- workforce planning and development
- skilling the workforce
- Indigenous employment participation
- migration
- business and industry support.
The feedback received helped form the Employment Strategy 2012-2015.
